The scalp is a specialised area of skin with a high density of hair follicles and sebaceous glands. It is also repeatedly exposed to shampoo during regular cleansing, which means that the choice, concentration, and combination of cleansing ingredients can significantly influence comfort and overall user experience. 

Rather than focusing only on strong cleansing power, BLERBERA prioritises a balanced cleansing system designed for comfortable everyday use. We do not claim that the scalp absorbs cosmetic ingredients faster than all other areas of the skin, as skin permeability varies depending on the ingredient, formulation, exposure time, and condition of the skin. Instead, our formulation approach is based on a more relevant principle: Because shampoo comes into direct and repeated contact with the scalp, the quality of the cleansing system matters.

A surfactant is an ingredient that helps water interact with oil and other substances that would not normally mix easily.

In shampoo, surfactants help loosen and remove :

Surfactants are among the most functionally important ingredients in a shampoo because they largely determine cleansing strength, foam characteristics, rinsing performance, and how the hair and scalp feel after washing.

Sulfate-based surfactants, such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate, have been widely used in personal-care products for many years. They are effective cleansers and can produce abundant foam. However, stronger cleansing systems may leave some users with a dry, tight, or stripped feeling, particularly when used frequently or in combination with dry climates, damaged hair, colour-treated hair, or mineral-rich water conditions. This does not mean that sulfate surfactants are inherently unsafe when properly formulated and used as intended. BLERBERA simply follows a different formulation philosophy. We prefer a milder cleansing approach designed to support everyday comfort, balanced cleansing, and a more refined after-feel.

BLERBERA uses a carefully selected blend of naturally derived surfactants, even though these ingredients are generally more costly than conventional high-foaming cleansing materials. 

This choice is not made simply to use the word "natural." It is made with a clear formulation intent. Each surfactant in the BLEVERA cleansing system is selected for a documented technical role — foam generation, mildness, rinseability, or compatibility with mineral-rich water — based on raw material technical data provided by our ingredient suppliers.

Rather than relying on one dominant cleansing ingredient, we combine several surfactants, each contributing a specific, ingredient-level function, to work toward a more considered cleansing profile :

In hard-water regions, calcium and magnesium ions can interact with cleansing ingredients and contribute to a different washing and rinsing experience.

They may also contribute to mineral residue on the hair surface over time.

For this reason, our formulation includes mineral-management ingredients whose chelating function is documented by their manufacturers for use in hard-water conditions.

These ingredients were selected specifically with regions such as the UK, EU, and GCC — where hard water is common — in mind.

The product does not change the water itself. It reflects a formulation approach intended to support a more comfortable daily cleansing experience in regions where mineral-rich water is part of everyday life.
